Distressed FX Mobile Art App Major Update and Giveaway!

The Distressed FX team is excited to announce an update that will bring joy to many of its existing users. By far the most requested feature, masking, has now been incorporated into the app.

The developers of this popular app have doubled-down on the masking and now offer it in two versions. Firstly, there is touch based masking, enabling the user to paint on the mask using a finger or Apple Pencil.  The second method is by using depth data incorporated into Portrait Mode photos. This means the user can automatically apply the filters to the foreground or background parts of the photo automatically. For this, you need a photo taken in Portrait Mode in the standard built-in iOS camera or other 3rd party camera apps that support depth data.

The app rendering engine has been completely reimplemented in the Apple graphics engine, Metal, for high speed processing. This also means the photos can be saved at higher resolutions than before and the limit is now only dependent on device memory.

This update is also accompanied by three new filter packs.

Snow Birds – Beautiful snow white birds based off the flocks of snow geese that migrate to Northern California in mass.

Splat – Adorned with lots of paint splatters and some canvas touches this pack is perfect for painterly images.

Painters Pallette – Light words splashed, hints of clouds, painterly yum. This pack is sure to be a favorite.

The new advanced editing features are available in the standard edition of the app for a Tier 2 price ($1.99 USD).

The filter packs remain the standard Tier 1 price ($.99 USD)

For Distressed FX Plus users – all of these features and filter packs come at no additional cost – which once again demonstrates the incredible value offered by the Plus Edition.
