shelter-in-place
#inthesky is a black and white Mobile Photography Essay inaugurated in 2015. An obsession to capture and illustrate ‘tension’ from the ground up continues to be my intent.
On March 17, 2020 a “shelter-in-place” Order went into effect throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Suddenly, everything changed.
In admirable battle against this raging pandemic, San Francisco has visually taken on a “stay home” persona. With each passing week, and quiet as it may seem, the overall sensibility of this brave city continues to intensify. Skies have been ranging from milky greys to cerulean blues, sometimes clear though more often filled with billowing masses of clouds. The sun looks brighter. Buildings look taller and streets seem wider as this state of eerie emptiness visually inspires hope and reflects a resilient San Francisco. Keep safe and keep well.
A percentage of all sales from this series will be donated to Project Open Hand.
