Chris Killip, retrospective Fri 07 Oct 2022 – Sun 19 Feb 2023
If you find yourself in London tonight, do attend this fabulous retrospective. Chris Killip’s continued efforts to value and document the lives of those affected by the economic shifts in the North of England, throughout the 1970s and 80s, have made him one of the most influential figures of British Photography. This retrospective exhibition of more than 140 works, serves as the most comprehensive survey of the photographer’s work to date and includes previously unseen ephemera and colour works. ‘His work possesses a poetic undertow that was linked to his ability to evoke conflicting moods in a single image’. Karyn Mannix Contemporary PRESENTS #inthesky – shelter-in-place” – New Works by James Bacchi
New Works by James Bacchi #inthesky San Francisco shelter-in-place #inthesky is a black and white Mobile Photography Essay inaugurated in 2015. An obsession to capture and illustrate ‘tension’ from the ground up continues to be my intent. On March 17, 2020 a “shelter-in-place” Order went into effect throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Suddenly, everything changed. In admirable battle against this raging pandemic, San Francisco has visually taken on a “stay home” persona. With each passing week, and quiet as it may seem, the overall sensibility of this brave city continues to intensify. Skies have been ranging from milky greys to cerulean blues, sometimes clear though more often filled with…

New Projects – Our New Form of Artistic Installation aka ‘The Quilt’ Is Ready!
We’re delighted to inform our readers that the quilt that so many of you contributed to, has now been completed. For those of you not aware of this project, it involved mobile artists contributing one image and each one was then carefully included within a large quilt to be displayed at the next gallery show or even Mobile Arts Festival. There has been a few obstacles along the way and we have overcome each one. This quilt was sewed together and finalised by none other than mobile artist, Lorenka Campos’ mother in law. We all owe her much gratitude. The quilt is now with Lorenka Campos, so if you would…
