Mixed Reactions To The New Will.i.am i.am ‘Genius iPhone 14 Megapixel Camera’
On November 24, 2012 we mentioned that Will.i.am perhaps best known as one of the founding members of The Black Eyed Peas was about to release an accessory to enable an iPhone 4/5 to shoot 14 megapixel images. Well, this product has now launched in London and the range starts at $315/£199 and will initially only be available at London’s Selfridges from December 6, 2012. It comes with an integrated keyboard and the cost of the development was according to Will.i.am himself ‘the cost of two DJ gigs’.
The product literally ‘fits over your iPhone unit so you only need to carry one device’, he went on to say. There are four models in the range these include standard, fish-eye, wide and zoom lenses with contemporary and vintage modes for iPhone 4 and 5 respectively called C.4 and V.4 and C.5 and V.5. There’s also an accompanying app which Will.i.am calls ‘a social photo experience’. The V.4 white model with gold trim and ‘vintage look’ will sell for $415/£299 and comes complete with slide-out keyboard.
So far, word on the street is that this is a pretty expensive ‘case’ with lenses and makes the iPhone quite bulky. As soon as we receive our review sample, we’ll put this product through our labs with an Expert Review coming from Kevin Carter soon, keep looking out for that.

A nice idea and look good, but hold the presses. What is with the price. Are they using real gold? The phone has a life of two to three years and that makes this case costing one $17.29 a month for two years or 11.53 a month for three years. On the other hand, if your the kind of person who buys a new phone each year to have the latest version of the iPhone, that comes to $34.58 a month. I guess they have not heard the world economy is in a recession.
