cocoaWithChurros today is pleased to announce the availability of "Photo Privacy" on the Mac App Store. Sharing pictures is great and fun, but inadvertely sharing personal information is not so pleasant. "Photo Privacy" helps you by removing the hidden data inside the photo files and creating a private version of your pictures, which you can safely use to upload to your favorite social network or image hosting service.
Most modern cameras and smartphones store some hidden information in the photo files, known as metadata. This metadata can contain very detailed information, for instance, who took the picture, when the picture was taken or even the location, if your camera or smartphone includes a GPS module. Some cameras even store a small copy of the original image inside the picture file. If your editing software does not remove this thumbnail, anyone could see the original image even if you modified the image file.
This information is very useful for photography aficionados, but it may be a risk when the pictures are uploaded to the internet.
"Photo Privacy" is a Metadata removal tool for your Mac which you can use to remove all the private information from your photos. It creates safe copies of your pictures without that private information, which can be safely posted on the internet or emailed, being confident that your personal information is not revealed.
Main Features:
* Removes metadata (GPS, EXIF, IPTC) and thumbnails from your pictures.
* Safe: A new image is created without any private information, keeping your original pictures unmodified.
* Easy to use interface. Two easy steps to get your private pictures.
* Supports RAW, JPEG, PNG, GIF and TIFF image files (RAW support is readonly. RAW files are converted to JPEG files)
