Paranormal Recorder

"Abnormal electromagnetic fields are associated with most reported paranormal phenomenon" said developer Ben Williams. "It occurred to me that if EVPs [Electronic Voice Phenomenons, i.e, unexplained ghostly recordings] are caused by paranormal forces there are likely electromagnetic fluctuations occurring during these communications."

Paranormal Recorder only records audio when the electromagnetic fields around the device fall outside of normal limits. Just as a motion activated light helps detect possible intruders, the electromagnetic activator recorder helps the paranormal investigator detect a ghostly visitor. An entire nights worth of recording can be reduced to a dozen minutes of audio that had high electromagnetic fluctuations associated with it.

Since it’s release in March of 2009 paranormal investigators have claimed to discover dozens of clear samples of EVP with the app. With the newly released version 3.11 of Paranormal Recorder these recordings can finally be shared and scrutinized by investigators and skeptics alike at the audio sharing site SoundCloud.

Taking advantage of Apple’s many camera equipped mobile devices, Quick Capture Cam is now available for download on the Apple App Store for only $1.99.

Straddling Apple’s Business category, this app defies being pigeonholed as a "single use" app. Quick Capture Cam, though an immensely user-friendly photo utility, is firmly geared to be both practical and flexible enough to cater to even the most business minded user. The app itself works on iOS devices with a front facing camera — such as the iPad 2 & iPhone 4 — utilizing this handy photographing feature. Rotary Ring

Panorama Concepts has announced the global release of the Rotary Ring app, designed specifically for the iPhone. The app is a combination of amazing rotary phone designs and the nostalgic memories of the 1950s-1960s.

Before downloading the app, you may wonder, Why do I still need Rotary Dial Telephones? True! In this age of cellular technology where we have video conference calls, 3G, an old rotary dial phone is about as useful as morse codes. Though, we should not forget that a phone’s major task is still: place and receive calls. This is one task the Rotary Ring does quite well and in a stylish and elegant fashion. Also, with this mechanical dialling, you can think twice whether or not to make that call!

"It was so exciting to develop Rotary Ring since I was always fascinated by the Rotary Dial Telephone era. It has always been my dream to travel back that specific era and enjoy the mechanical feel of dialling numbers. As such, I asked the team at Panorama Concepts to design 8 Retro-Stylish themes and most importantly, ensure authentic dial sound effects in building this app. I hope the new generation will also cherish calling people in the Rotary Dial way." said Alan Kong, CEO of Panorama Concepts.

Tactical NAV

Tactical NAV, a military-grade iPhone app created by U.S. Army Capt. Jonathan J. Springer, a battalion fire support officer with the 101st Airborne Division, has successfully been used in combat to help destroy a Taliban fighting position in eastern Afghanistan’s Kunar Province near the Pakistan border.

As troops were patrolling along a main supply route leading to a U.S. base, soldiers in the convoy came under heavy machine-gun fire from an enemy fighting position nearby. While troops were in contact, a call for fire was initiated by the forward observer on the ground, and Tactical NAV was used to help direct 120-mm mortar rounds onto the Taliban fighting position. After the mortar rounds were observed impacting safely onto the Taliban’s position, all enemy contact ceased. No U.S. troops were wounded during the attack, and the mounted patrol was able to return to base following the completion of their mission.

"This is exactly why I created Tactical NAV," said Springer, who is still deployed to Afghanistan with the 101st Airborne. "I set out to create an inexpensive and accurate tool for the Warfighter engaged in the fight, and I’m happy to report that it works as described."
