“Firstly, I must thank Joanne for asking me to do this. It’s been lovely, wandering down memory lane. It has reminded me of so many more images than I can show here. I could have picked any image from any of these artists and applied it to any of the categories!”

The image that is currently in the forefront of my mind.

I saw this beach scene recently and haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. It’s beautifully observed and the Hipstamatic combo is fabulous. I tried recreating it on a couple of my pics, without any success whatsoever. Which makes me love this even more!

The image that changed my life.

When I first started using Hipstamatic in 2010, I joined a FB group called Hipstamatic World, run by Jeff Burgess. This is an early one of his images that remains one of my all time favourite shots.

The lovely people in that group really opened my eyes to iPhone photography and I’ve been lucky to meet many of them in the real world. This has led to many other FB groups, many new friends and has quite literally changed my life.

Thanks Jeff 😘

The image I wish I had created.

This was my first thought when I saw Catherine’s beautiful study. It’s something I’ve thought many times since too but this image has always stayed with me.

Artwork that has influenced my art.

Gianluca has an innate ability to create masterpieces. I could have chosen literally any of his pics. They are all simply wonderful. From his stunning landscapes to his painterly floral studies, I’m in awe.

The image that is most underrated.

I saw this image recently in a Hipstamatic group and fell in love with it immediately. If I could have liked it twice, I would!

The image that changed my mind.

I have never really been much of a fan of abstract art. There, I’ve said it!

However, that was until I discovered a FB group called appstracts. It wasn’t until I actually tried to create it, that I realised just how difficult it is to produce good abstract art.

Clint’s work epitomises Good Abstract Art. Every one of his images is breathtaking in both its simplicity and its complexity.

Consider my mind, well and truly changed!

The most recent image that made me sad.

Seeing any of Arjan’s pics will create a twinge of anxiety. I still can’t believe he is no longer with us.

He was a good friend and an incredible talent and he is dearly missed.

The most recent image that made me smile.

I just love Annie’s adventures with Mr Gnome, Sir Kiwi and the gang. Guaranteed to bring a smile every time as they travel the stunning Alaskan countryside.

My comfort images.

Christine has taken more than a few of my all time favourite images. Her incredible eye, capturing what few others would see and then using the perfect Hipstamatic combo to wring out every last drop of perfection.

Simply wonderful!

The image I would most like to give as a gift.

Sabine is another artist with incredible talent. There is something truly special about this. Another that once seen, will never be forgotten. Once again, the perfect shot paired with the perfect combo. Just sublime.

My earliest artistic memory.

Another group that I discovered in the early days was IPA. Iphoneart.com was an incredible forum of mobile artists which combined all the best elements of Flickr, P1xels, Instagram & Facebook all wrapped up into one.

It was here that I first saw this image. Another that I have never forgotten, it opened my eyes to the creative possibilities of mobile art.
