This week I have been in-between hospital treatments, convalescing this week, whilst preparing for further treatment next week. I am aware that many people have been trying to reach me and I apologise for not getting back to all. I will do, just as soon as I’m fully recovered. In these trying times it can seem so hard to seek joy in the simpler things in life. Yet, it is vitally important to find solace wherever we can, for me, I turn to nature. Lighter mornings, longer days, bobbing daffodils, tweeting birds, they are all still there for us, helping to lead us away from fearful thoughts. Walking in nature, with camera phone in hand, can lead to a spontaneous forage of images. This weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art is entitled ‘The Power of Hope Today’ by Gabrielle Marshall. She is a seventh-grader from Virginia. Her poem The Power of Hope Today was the third-place winner of the 2021 Inaugural Poem Contest for Students.
