This weeks Saturday Poetry, matched with mobile photography/art is entitled ‘Kindness’ by Naomi Shihab Nye. It is a poem that I often return too, especially when I have inadvertently brushed up against the harshness of this world. It is beautiful poetry and one of my favourites, it reminds us of what we already know. It starts ‘before you know what kindness really is you must lose things, feel the future dissolve in a moment like salt in a weakened broth‘. This weeks it is my pleasure to lavish you with love within our showcase, not that we need it to be Valentine’s Day to do so, but it is rather apt that it is. Who would have thought we would have had such a tumultuous year, when we look back? Five Days Left to Enter National Digital Artists Competition
There are only five days left to enter the ‘Images of Resilience’ competition organised by the National Digital Artists Association (naDA) as a special fundraising competition for photographers and digital artists to support Award Winning Mobile Photographer Meri Walker (@iPhoneArtGirl). Walker lost her home and all her belongings in the fire that ravaged Talent, OR on September 8, 2020 – a devastating loss.
