Today, our App of the Day is Waterlogue and it is also currently on sale, down to $2.99 from $4.99. Created by John Balestrieri and Robert Clair (othewise known as Tinrocket), both determined to create an app that could transform photographs into paintings, well. Their diligence paid off, the algorithms created in Waterlogue are intelligent, layer by layer, just as a true artist would create.

Mobile Photography / Art – Inkwork – Brand New Art App from the Developers of Brushstroke for iOS

We are very excited this morning to announce a fabulous new app from the developers of Brushstroke (frequently mentioned in our Top 5 Best Apps by Mobile Artists). Inkwork has been designed to be a companion app to Code Organa’s popular Brushstroke app. It turns your photos into art by instantly transforming them into expressive pen and ink drawings.

After creating Brushstroke and encouraged by its response, especially from artists, the developers became inspired to design an app in that same spirit, but for ink. They challenged ourselves to affect the different styles and techniques of our favorite comic book and graphic novel artists and illustrators. In the process, they broadened the techniques used in Brushstroke and developed entirely new ones specifically for this app. The results are often dramatic and expressive, revealing the hidden art in one’s photos in the simple black and white of ink and paper.

We are really proud of Inkwork here at TheAppWhisperer and hope it will empower others to create art with their magical devices.
