Instagram Updated With Landscape Mode & More…
Instagram received a minor update yesterday, compared at least to the major update of the Video update recently. This update now adds the very much desired landscape mode and video stabilization feature when using the front facing camera. The landscape support allows for both photos and videos to be shot in landscape mode. The front facing camera stabilization is only available on the IOS version of Instagram at the moment, hopefully this will be coming soon to Android. If you are hankering for front facing video stabilization, Vine have had this feature to their Android app from day 1. Click here to update/download Instagram
Gray’s Anatomy – At The Android Party – By Richard Gray
One of the first things I did after setting up my new Galaxy was to check out the photo apps available on Android. Of all my friends’ reservations about THE MOVE, this was the one that came up the most. It was a bit like going to a party and looking around the room for familiar faces. Ah Snapseed old chum, good to see you! But there’s something different about you, Snap. Like you’ve got your tie on too tight. Oh right, you downsized on Android. Can you get pills for that? OK, but you’ve got more energy. That’s nice. Other friendly faces in the crowd were Touch Retouch (thank…

Gray’s Anatomy – ‘The one man on Earth who hasn’t heard of Instagram’ – By Richard Gray
It’s happened again, another Friday is upon us, quicker than the last one, or so it seems and if you’re like us, a fan of Richard Gray’s column then this is excellent news, as we publish it, every single Friday. Over to you Richard (foreword by Joanne Carter). "William Eggleston has been described as the world’s greatest photographer. And he has no idea what (or who) Instagram is. He revealed this and a very limited number of other things in a recent interview with an illustrious panel of photographic luminaries published in The Independent. If you’re a fan of Eggleston’s work you might also be the sort…
Instagrammers Focus On Margaret Thatcher’s Funeral
Whether you loved her or loathed her and many did, in equal measure, there’s no mistaking that her funeral in London yesterday was controversial. Instagrammers of London though were out in force and we have enjoyed looking at some of their captures from day. Take a look at these below…
Instagram Image Takes Front Page Of New York Times
Despite the actual photo shoot for this event taking place back in February 2012, this image of Alex Rodriguez taken by professional sports photographer Nick Laham in a locker room, graced Sunday’s (March 31, 2013) front page. It was taken with an iPhone and edited in Instagram. It’s an interesting tactic by the NYT’s, we’re not entirely sure why they have decided to publish these images now but we’re very grateful that they have as it continues to drive the momentum of mobile photography as a serious form of photojournalism. Petapixel (via Huffington Post), have some great behind the scenes images from the photo shoot and we have included them…
Almost Half Of All Instagrammers Are Now Android Users
Yesterday, April 3, 2013, was the first year anniversary for the developers of Instagram’s Android app. Last year, in less than one day over a million people downloaded the app and now almost half of all instagrammers use the Android app to share photos with friends, family and the world. Philip McAllister of the Instagram Android Team, explains, "Instagram for Android has helped make this community more global than ever. Major events such as: Brazil’s Círio de Nazaré festival, the 85th birthday of Thailand’s King Bhumibol, and a streak of severe thunderstorms throughout Malaysia have been captured by Android Instagrammers and shared to global audiences like never before. We’ve also…
