Mobile Movies – Selena Gomez ‘Lose You To Love Me’ Music Video – #ShotoniPhone

The brand new Apple iPhone 11 Pro smartphone was used to film Selena Gomez’s latest music video for her new track ‘lose you to love me’. This is a simple video, stylised by the director, Sophie Muller.

We have included a behind the scenes shoot of this video, where you will see the iPhone 11 Pro at work. We have also included the fully published official video underneath that too, so you can view the full effects at work. The lighting looks to be a set up from a rig but the rest is relatively simple – I know more than one mobile videographer who could create a video like this!

Apple Agrees to Compensate Winners of ‘Shot on iPhone Competition’

Share

Many of the Mobile Photographers within TheAppWhisperer community have not only submitted their images to Apple’s ‘Shot on iPhone Competition’ but have also won and their photographs have graced billboards around the world in earlier years. Apple has faced criticism though for not compensating winners, suggesting perhaps that they felt exposure should be enough. However, Apple have now backtracked and will compensate winners with licensing fees. A direct quote from Apple reads:

Apple believes strongly that artists should be compensated for their work. Photographers who shoot the final 10 winning photos will receive a licensing fee for use of such photos on billboards and other Apple marketing channels”.

The contest is open now until February 7 2019 – so hurry to enter if you haven’t yet. To enter, tag your image on Twitter and/or Instagram with #ShotoniPhone

Judges this year include Peter Souza – Obama White House Photographer, Austin Mann – one of our contributors, Luisa Door, Annet de Graaf, Chen Man, Phil Schiller, Kaiann Drance, Broooks Kraft, Sebastien Marineau-Mes, Arem Duplessis and Jon McCormack – the leader of Apple’s camera team.

Instagram TAKEOVER with Ocean Morisset @oceanstide – Days 4 – 7 – As He Leaves Us…

Share

For the past week Ocean Morisset – @oceanstide has been publishing three of his images each day to our Instagram feed and it’s been winsome.

I personally asked mobile street photographer, Morisset to take over our Instagram account for seven days because he’s distinguished himself through sheer range. Morisset’s photography is never staged and I would venture, each image is captured in an instant. Perfectly balanced compositions are undoubtedly Morisset’s greatest strength and perhaps what I find most remarkable is the ability, he has, to establish immediate connections with his subjects, no matter how transient the encounter. Morisset’s street photography is as far away from clinical cold street photography as it is to fine art portraiture. There’s a sensitivity here, compassion for his subjects and deep trust in his own instincts. He gifts the viewer the freedom to imagine and interpret the development of his suggested stories.

Huge thanks to Ocean Morisset what a week it has been, thank you!

Today, we will announce a new Instagram TakeOver, again with a very talented mobile photographer, stand by for that!

Instagram TakeOver with Street Photographer Clay Benskin, from New York City – Days 6 – 7

Share

Last week we started the first of our brand new format to our Instagram TakeOver’s and Clay Benskin – @clay_benskin performed impeccably. He agreed to publish three of his rousing street photography images per day and we have featured days 6 – 7 below.  Benskin’s’ key tropes include, people on the subway, people waiting, small groups, calm and chaotic. Sometimes the subjects are aware they’ve been captured in his frame, returning Benskin’s curious gaze, other times, they’re snatched portraits with subjects caught in movement or rumination. Benskin’s mobile street photography is a kind of visual, impressionistic diary of animated moments of modern day, New York City life. His images fill each viewer, with intensity, sharing a connection with the people he views, enlivening everyday scenes.

Huge thanks to Clay Benskin, what a week it has been viewing New York City, through your mobile lens, thank you!

Today, we will announce a new Instagram TakeOver, again with a very talented mobile photographer, stand by for that!
