The Chinese grey market for the iPhone 4 is rife, so much so that today Apple closed its Beijing Apple Store. Hordes of customers were seen leaving the shop with up to 30 handsets each. Then they were further spotted trying to sell them to passers by, as reported by 9to5Mac.
Most other Apple stores and also online ordering has always been limited to 2 iPhones per customer. With Apple offering an unlimited option in Beijing it seems that the inevitable has happened. Now nobody can buy one.
Before the police were called in chaos had broken out with fighting taking place in between grey market buyers waving cash around.
At least we can all agree that the iPhone 4 is a big hit in China!
