
Mobile Photography & Art – My Top Five Apps by Em Kachouro
We are revitalising our Top Five Apps section to our Photo App Lounge column. This a section within TheAppWhisperer where we ask highly accomplished mobile photographers and artists to list their top five apps and to explain why they have selected them. Kicking us off today is mobile photographer and artist, Em Kachouro, take a look!

Snapseed
When I start to edit one of my photos I took with my iPhone, I nearly always take Snapseed for the first steps (contrast, brightness, size, ambiance). Sometimes – as in the following photo – it doesn’t take more steps to have the desired result.

Procreate
My favourite app to draw and paint – either on an empty canvas or on a photo – is Procreate. It’s also my app of choice for making collages or doing retouches on photos.

Matter
Matter is the app I use to insert 3D objects into my scenes. I often make animated versions as well – I call them “poetic loops”.

Plotagraph
I also love the app Plotagraph to animate parts of my photos. I like it when the effect is very subtle, i. e. only visible at second glance.

Prisma
The app Prisma offers some filters that allow me to realize some works in the area I call “graphic novel art“:
