Visualising Mobile Photography and Art Interview with Clint Cline from the USA
Today, we are publishing our eighteenth visual interview, this time with Clint Cline from the USA. Cline employs a technique within his painting that embodies religion, storytelling and abstract art. His paintings are powerful, mysterious amalgams of landscapes and unique craggy forms that elicit abstract shapes, symmetrically balancing powerful colour tones. Viewed in epic proportions, Cline’s work evokes an awesome grandness of nature. The imagery employed has the simplicity of a Shaker chair but the discipline, calmness and originality that radiates from his paintings, makes for the envy of many an artist. I am so excited about this new Interview section within TheAppWhisperer. A picture speaks a thousand words, so says…

Visualising Mobile Photography and Art Interview with Amanda Parker from the USA
I am so excited about this new Interview section within TheAppWhisperer. A picture speaks a thousand words, so says the English language idiom and as this is a website by and for visual artists, we felt this section was long overdue. We asked a series of mobile photographers and artists ten questions, in text format and we asked them to respond in their very best way, visually and in their own style of photography/art, the results are unique and incredibly exciting. To read our previously published interviews, with Deborah McMillion, M. Cecilia Sao Thiago, Christine Sobczak, Liliana Schwitter, Armineh Hovanesian, Lorenka Campos, Donna Donato, Eliza Badoiu, Juta Jazz, Susan Rennie,…

Mobile Photography – StreetWise Winter 2017 / 2018 Showcase
“I love the people I photograph. I mean, they’re my friends. I’ve never met most of them or I don’t know them at all, yet through my images I live with them.” Bruce Gilden Hello Everyone! Thank you for submitting your images to StreetWise Flickr group for our ‘Winter Showcase.’ We were touched by the soulfulness and warmth of your photos – beautiful winter scenes (whether in tropical or snowy settings) of people (and animals) looking out windows, windows as frames, windows reflecting cityscapes, people in public transportation, carrying umbrellas, lone figures in urban landscapes and photos of people connecting hand in hand, or embracing one another. Even in the…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 4 March 2018
I’ve been really excited this week because I have created a new interview platform within TheAppWhisperer that allows artists to answer the textual questions we ask, visually and the results have been spectacular. I have wanted to do this for sometime. As I explained elsewhere on the internet, my thought processes behind this format of interview are based on not only my life experiences but also on some of my professional qualifications. I have been surrounded my entire life by people who find communicating in a neurotypical way, difficult. I believe and have always believed that the onus is on the person trying to interpret what is being communicated, to…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 25 February 2018
“I didn’t know I was even supposed to HAVE issues until I came to America”, a quote from a book I am currently reading – Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. A fearless contemporary construction about immigration, racism, American dreams and love. Adichie has the unique ability to meticulously and deeply humanise language, capturing a familiar plot but making it fresh. I read vast ranges of books, never fixating on a genre. I am the same when studying photography and art. I’m influenced by and interested in artists who break rules about genre. I’m interested in images with multiple levels that repay close inspection, ensuring I go to unexpected places. A…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 7 January 2018
“Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties“, writes Erich Fromm, one of the most prescient thinkers of the 20th century. Love and creativity play a huge part of my life and it is physical. Love of art, the art of loving, irrational, intellectual, obsessive, insightful. Professor Semir Zeki, a neurobiologist at the University College London, proved in a series of pioneering brain-mapping experiments that viewing art triggers a surge of dopamine, the feel-good chemicial, into the orbito-frontal cortex of the brain, resulting in feelings of intense pleasure, the same part of the brain that is excited, when we fall for someone, romantically. For all of us associated with…
