Jony Ive To Design New Leica M Camera
Well, we are not surprised by this news but definitely excited. We’ve known for many years how Apple feels about Leica cameras and so it was no surprise to learn at Leica’s special event last night at Photokina (where theappwhisperer is right now) that Dr Andreas Kaufmann from Leica announced they’ve got a very special limited edition version of the Leica M planned, one that will be designed by Jony Ive – Senior Vice President, Industrial Design at Apple.
The downside is that when they say ‘limited’ they really do mean limited. In fact only one camera will be produced and will likely be auctioned off for charity. However, this is a step in the right direction and one that we feel an Apple/Leica partnership will be coming soon. Watch this space folks…
