Camera+ Gets Stripped From The App Store
As we and many others reported yesterday, Camera+ violated Apple’s developer agreement by ‘hiding’ an update to their hugely popular app after Apple had already rejected it.
Apple initially rejected the update to Camera+ as it felt it would bring about ‘user confusion’. The idea was to allow users to use one of the iPhone’s volume buttons as a mechanical shutter button while using Camera+.
However, tap tap tap, the developers behind Camera+ then gave instructions via Twitter on a ‘workaround’ allowing users to use the volume button as the shutter. Obviously this was picked up by a lot of blogs and consquently got back to Apple who promptly kicked it out of the store.
Camera+ is a great app and I am sure the developers will be able to incorporate an update that doesn’t violate Apple’s developer agreement or perhaps Apple may see fit that by using the volume buttons as a shutter may not actually cause ‘user confusion’ – I mean, why would anyone want to play around with the volume on their iPhone whilst composing a photo?
