Mob-Entrepreneurs – New iPhone Photography Book by Sukru Mehmet Omur
We created our Mob-Entrepreneurs section many moons ago, this is a select area and we only choose to champion projects that we truly believe in. It reflects the work of mobile photographers and artists who are pushing the boundaries of their talent into other areas. These could be workshops, app development, books, exhibitions anything that draws in others to our magical world.
Today, I am very proud to announce the publication of a brand new book about our favourite subject, mobile photography, by accomplished mobile artist, Sukru Mehmet Omur! This book is available in libraries in Turkey and also, I have discovered, at this link here. I was very fortunate because Omur sent me details of this book and he said “I wanted to share with you first because it was the new year resolution for you. And you are my guide my guru on this way Thank you so much for all you bring to my artistic life”. What a kind and great man! (If you would like to review our New Year Resolutions from all the artists that participated, please go here).
I have translated the preface of his book from Turkish to English (bear in mind that I am not a native Turkish language speaker, so I’ve cheated and am relying and trusting Google Translate to help me here). This is what it says:
“Use your mobile phone camera, have fun; Enhance your photography, share your artefacts with Instagram and Facebook. Smart phones have changed the rules of the game in the world of photography with their small size, presence at all times and quality of the lens.
They are quick and simple to work with, take beautiful photos, can move photos to other dimensions through applications, and access hundreds of thousands of them through social networks like Facebook, Flickr, Instagram and Tumblr. This book can not help you use your mobile camera more efficiently and take the best pictures of your life with it.
If there are those who want to go further, they will also open the doors of “mobile art” with their applications. The magic is based on the iPhone camera, but the features it deals with are common to all mobile phones. For this reason, those who do not have an iPhone phone can also benefit from this book”.
Many congratulations to you Sukru Mehmet Omur!
