Double Life a book-length photographic project by Kelli Connell has kept me entranced this week. At first, the viewer will imagine that the images are of shared moments in the life of two women, who possibly appear to be a couple. Then as each page is turned, we begin to realise that it’s not two women, it’s one, the same woman and the mystery begins. The images are documentary style and not dissimilar to the autobiographical work of Nan Goldin, albeit without the edgy undertones. Book Launch – A Joyous Representation of Mobile Art Visualised Through the Quilt Project
I am delighted today to announce the publication of the Mobile Art Quilt Project Book. Now, arguably considered to be one of the 21st century’s most important poetic pieces and a defining staple of mobile art. It is a piece of literature and art that was inspired by the creation of the physical Mobile Art Quilt which showcases 234 pieces of art created by individual mobile artists throughout the world. Each artwork stands on its own, with its own structure, meaning and symbolism. We are very excited today to learn that one of our community members, Gerry Coe, has received another Fellowship from the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) for a series of portraits captured and edited with his Apple iPhone.
