MIRA Mobile Prize 2016 ‘Connections’ Competition Results with Video Showcase
I am delighted to congratulate all the participants in this years MIRA Mobile Prize. I was fortunate to be a member of this Jury and I have been so impressed with all the entries. From six thousand images, to one overall winning image, with a further fifty finalist images to be Exhibited at MIRA FORUM, on 30 April 2016. It was no mean feat make this selection. All the images you see below will be exhibited in Porto, the home of the MIRA Mobile Prize. Mobile Photography / Art – Saturday Poetry – She Walks in Beauty by Lord Byron (George Gordon) – Including @24hourproject
In honour of the @24hourproject, a street photography project designed to document streets of the world over a 24 hour period, created by Renzo Grande @aliveinnyc and Sam Smotherman @whittiersam, we have decided to feature a wonderful poem by Lord Byron the most flamboyant, notorious and fashionable of the major Romantic poets of the day. The poem is entitled ‘She Walks in Beauty’ and I really feel it epitomises the essence of the @24hourproject. Many of you have already seen our new segment to our APPart column here at TheAppWhisperer, edited by Bobbi McMurry. We would like to inspire all mobile artists to create one image a day using the selected colour of Pantone’s ‘Color of the Day’ – see here (we will announce the colour each day). Kickstarter Project – iPhone Photography Cards
I am very pleased to learn of this exciting Kickstarter project of iPhone Photography Cards. Essentially they are flashcards for iPhone photography enthusiasts. The deck includes 10 knowledge and 40 task cards. The concept is to combine both types of cards to obtain one photography challenge – there are 400 possibilities! This project has been created by my friend and fellow photographer Jack Hollingsworth as well as Killian Kunz a graphic designer and photographer.
