Mobile Shorts Tiny Shutter Advantage – Snapseed – The New Update
Keith Tharp has sent through his latest video tutorial article for his weekly Tiny Shutter Mobile Shorts Column. In this weeks tutorial Keith walks us through the latest Snapseed update and demonstrates how to use it, fast. ShutterSnitch – Updated
ShutterSnitch is a great app allowing you to wirelessly transfer images to your iPad from your Eye-Fi card, PTP/IP enabled device or a Canon, Nikon or other file transmitter that supports uploading to an FTP server over your wireless network. This app has just been updated with WebDAV added to locations as well as the addition of a setting to show the network SSID in the status bar. Instagram – New Filter Update
Willow is the name of the new filter in this latest Instagram update and it’s a monochrome effect filter. There’s also a few other improvements including the quality of the tilt-shift effect and you can scroll infinitely on user profiles and other grid views. As well as all that, there’s also a Foursquare button on location pages that opens the Foursquare app. This is a free update, to a free app. You can download/update it here.

Twitter Adds Photo Filters To Android Mobile App – iOS Version To Follow
We knew Twitter would be launching an all out war shortly with Instagram and Facebook and this is just the start. So far only for the Android version of Twitter has updated to include photo filters. The iOS version is due to follow on shortly. Aviary are the powerhorses behind this update, very much as they were for Flickr earlier in the year. Smartphones And Digital Photography – Where Is It Going?
I was taking a look through my archives and felt that it might be a good idea to revisit this article I wrote for dpreview.com back in October 2011. It’s an opinion piece discussing how smartphones are changing digital photography, there are many aspects of it that are ‘dated’ now in terms of hardware that I mentioned but the fundamentals remain and with the current ‘confusion/disillusionment’ many iPhone photographers are reporting, I felt this may be of help.
