What does Brexit mean for love? A Portraiture Series by Laura Pannack ‘Separation’ with Affinity Photo App

2018-03-14 / Comments Off on What does Brexit mean for love? A Portraiture Series by Laura Pannack ‘Separation’ with Affinity Photo App

I am delighted to publish this incredible series of portraiture by Laura Pannack a London-based photographer.  The series was commissioned by British Journal of Photography and created with Affinity Photo, a professional editing software app for iPad. Affinity Photo, Apple’s official iPad App of the Year 2017, was used by Pannack throughout the Separation photo shoot. “To have something so versatile and so advanced on an iPad is astounding,” says Pannack. “Because the editing is incredibly quick, we could try different things out.” Each portrait is accompanied by candid reflections from each couple detailing how Brexit has personally affected their relationship. The couples that feature in Separation are all of…

I am so excited about this new Interview section within TheAppWhisperer. A picture speaks a thousand words, so says the English language idiom and as this is a website by and for visual artists, we felt this section was long overdue. We asked a series of mobile photographers and artists ten questions, in text format and we asked them to respond in their very best way, visually and in their own style of photography/art, the results are unique and incredibly exciting. To read our previously published interviews, with Deborah McMillion, M. Cecilia Sao Thiago, Christine Sobczak, Liliana Schwitter, Armineh Hovanesian, Lorenka Campos, Donna Donato and Eliza Badoiu please go here.…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 10 March 2018

2018-03-11 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 10 March 2018

Sometimes when curating and putting together our mobile photography and art showcase, as I work long hours, tiredness creeps in and it’s at those times when semi consciousness takes over and the real creativity happens. I think this is the case for many artists, creativity can not be turned on and off with the flick of switch, sometimes it takes a while for it to start building and smouldering and as the heat builds and builds it becomes the all encompassing climax of our vigorous lives. There is much talent in this showcase, matched with fierce, compassionate and revelatory art. Enjoy this piercingly tender film, it’s one that will make…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 4 March 2018

2018-03-04 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 4 March 2018

I’ve been really excited this week because I have created a new interview platform within TheAppWhisperer that allows artists to answer the textual questions we ask, visually and the results have been spectacular. I have wanted to do this for sometime. As I explained elsewhere on the internet, my thought processes behind this format of interview are based on not only my life experiences but also on some of my professional qualifications. I have been surrounded my entire life by people who find communicating in a neurotypical way, difficult. I believe and have always believed that the onus is on the person trying to interpret what is being communicated, to…
