    Mobile Photography & Art – Flickr Group Showcase – 20 February 2022

    2022-02-20 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art – Flickr Group Showcase – 20 February 2022

Chaos is supposed to be what we most fear but I have come to believe it might be what we most want. If we don’t believe in the future we are planning, the house we are mortgaged to, the person who sleeps by our side, it…

What I love about the syllabus of this class, is at its core, albeit a psychology class, its emphasis is on love, through art. As described in The Guardian…

Sontag argued that beleaguering the public with sensationalist photographs of war and poverty was a definitive way to numb the public’s response. Sontag believed that the more distressing images people viewed, the more immune they became to their impact; viewers became reduced to inaction, either through guilt or a dismissive lethargy towards making a difference. Sontag reversed this view in Regarding the Pain of Others (2004), but ‘compassion fatigue’ is still used as an argument against war imagery today. I have been thinking about this a…

Almost hiding in…

Mobile Photography & Art – Happy Thanksgiving Post…

2021-11-25 / Comments Off on Mobile Photography & Art – Happy Thanksgiving Post…

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re reviving and in some cases refreshing our mobile photography and art thanksgiving post of previous years because it’s as relevant today as it was then. Although we do not officially observe Thanksgiving here in the UK, for me personally, it offers another excuse to send love and gratitude to our beautiful community. Without your art, your thoughts and your daily leaps of courageous self-expression, TheAppWhisperer would not exist. In this article mobile artists have expressed their thoughts in words and images representing what mobile photography and art means to them and considered what they’re thankful for in relation to it.  Some have mentioned our wonderful community, some…

Bichachi’s art underlines the concept of the impermanence of life – one of her main sources of inspiration. The processes of genesis, metamorphosis and inevitable disappearance, as well as the symbolic correspondences between earth and body, are her starting points. Bichachi’s photographs offer great poetic beauty brought together in a superbly elegant…
