HTC One – The Print – Does ‘Megapixel’ Size Really Matter?

2013-06-06 / Comments Off on HTC One – The Print – Does ‘Megapixel’ Size Really Matter?

Well this is very impressive, I admit, I like the HTC One and have one sitting in our labs right now, I also recently attended a fabulous Press Event with HTC and Getty Images displaying impressive street football photographs from professional Getty photographers around the world taken with the said smartphone – see here. SpittingImages have actually put the HTC One and megapixels to the test, despite the meagre 4MP of the HTC One the lens quality, sharpness of the image and quantity of light captured are also significant points. Megapixel size is not everything, in this case and they did work it but SpittingImage have printed out some very…

Street Football: An Insider’s Perspective – Event Tonight – I’ll Be There!

    2013-05-23 / 3 Comments

I’m super excited to be attending the preview of the above event tonight in London, it’s in association with HTC a global leader in mobile innovation and design. The exhibition will be hosted at Top Office Machines, 133-135 Bethnal Green Road – a gallery located in a former computer repair shop – from Friday, 24th of…

Camera Comparison – Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, Nokia Lumia 920 and iPhone 5

2013-05-08 / Comments Off on Camera Comparison – Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, Nokia Lumia 920 and iPhone 5

Gizmodo recently published a large smartphone camera test to try to decifer which smartphone, out of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Sony Xperia Z, HTC One, Nokia Lumia 920 and iPhone 5 is the ‘best’. They tested them in “four common situations, two in daylight and two in a blacked out corner of the office”. Had we carried out this test ourselves in our own lab with our resident camera reviewer, also BJP contributor and DxO optics reviewer, Kevin Carter, it would have been very different. But, it’s interesting to note the winner that Gizmodo selected was actually for a joint overall place between the HTC One and the Nokia Lumia…
