iBooks Gift Cards Now Available
Just in time for the holiday season of course, iLounge, has noted that Apple has started selling iBooks gift cards in their retail stores. As you are probably aware Apple have been selling the iTunes gift cards for many years, these are redeemable against apps, music and video. To be honest we’re not sure why Apple don’t just simplfiy things and create one card, say the ‘Apple iGift’ or something like that, that allows you to redeem it against any Apple downloadable item you like.

iTunes Store Offers Movies in Japan
iTunes movies are now being offered in Japan, these include translated English language movies like Alice in Wonderland as well as Japansese specific titles including Ototo. The viewing rights appear to be 30 days to start watching the movie and 48 hours to finish once playback has commenced. New movies in HD cost around 2500 Yen. Apple TV also hit Japan this week and Apple is hoping for a large uptake competing with Sony and services like Qriocity or PS3’s movie store, all of which are popular already in Japan.
