New Projects – Our New Form of Artistic Installation aka ‘The Quilt’ Is Ready!
We’re delighted to inform our readers that the quilt that so many of you contributed to, has now been completed. For those of you not aware of this project, it involved mobile artists contributing one image and each one was then carefully included within a large quilt to be displayed at the next gallery show or even Mobile Arts Festival. There has been a few obstacles along the way and we have overcome each one. This quilt was sewed together and finalised by none other than mobile artist, Lorenka Campos’ mother in law. We all owe her much gratitude. The quilt is now with Lorenka Campos, so if you would…

Mobile Photography & Art Flickr Group Showcase – 3 December 2017
In the UK we have a literary award of which, it is of no honour to win. It is the Bad Sex Award and each year since 1993 an author is honoured who has, in the opinion of the judges, produced an outstandingly bad scene of sexual description, in an otherwise good novel. The results of which, I always find interesting to read, notwithstanding the reviews too. Is it wrong to find it laudable? This year one author and writer for The Guardian, Rhiannon Lucy Cosslett claims the thought of being awarded the bad sex award has inspired her to work harder, she writes, “Many women are acutely aware of…
Mobile Photography – Self Portraiture Video by Jeffrey Simpson
Last week we published an incredibly interesting TrueView interview with Jeffrey Simpson where he so eloquently describes his reasoning for creating self portraiture. If you missed that, please go here. Today, we are publishing a video created by Simpson, including many of his wonderful self portraiture images. It is remarkably moving, atmospheric and full of awareness. The music playing throughout ‘I am Myself’ by Pearl Jam ensures we take a spiritual journey, one where a bond develops between the viewer and Simpson, it is really extraordinary. Take a look at this!
Mobile Photography & Art – Tickle Your Fancy #58
Welcome back to our fifty eighth post in our Tickle Your Fancy section. ‘Tickle Your Fancy’ includes a round-up of between seven to eight links to articles from around the internet that have specifically interested us during the course of the week. Ones that we feel are relevant to your interest in photography and art. This week, we have focused primarily on links within our own website, not only purely our links but ones that we have linked out to. Just to explain the title for this section ‘Tickle Your Fancy is an English idiom and essentially means that something appeals to you and perhaps stimulates your imagination in an enthusiastic…
Mobile Photography – TrueView Interview – ‘Why I create Self Portraiture’ with Jeffrey Simpson from Fryeburg, Maine, United States
Our TrueView Interview section is an area where we ask one singular question, to mobile photographers and artists and it is captured to video. This time, we asked highly accomplished Mobile Photographer and Artist, Jeffrey Simpson from Fryeburg, Maine, US to consider and answer ‘why I create self portraiture with my smartphone’. It is an interesting question to ponder, there are over 1.8 billion photos shared around the internet each day, many of these are selfies. The difference, we feel in our questioning is that we are asking artists. Therefore, do artists take self portraits because it gives them the opportunity to view themselves from the outside? That a considerable…
Grand Flickr Group Showcase of 2016 – TheAppWhisperer – Mobile Photography and Art
I had intended to publish our 2016 Grand Flickr Group Showcase of Mobile Photography and Art on Christmas Day this year. I had prepared most of it ahead of time and was relatively well organised to go live on 25 December. However, events took a turn for the worse and as I awoke after a thoroughly turbulent night on the morning of 24 December, I picked up my phone and saw a Facebook message coming through from a friend expressing how sorry she was for the loss of Carolyn Hall Young a few hours before. For a few moments, I thought I was still in the midst of the wretched…
