Photography – TriggerTrap Goes Out of Business…
I am saddened to report that TriggerTrap, a company that we have highlighted many times here at TheAppWhisperer, over the years, (see here), has announced that it has failed. It was launched in 2011 and its initial Kickstarter campaign raised over $500,000, which was well past its $77,000 goal. But, it seemed that that achievement was also its undoing. In 2015 Triggertrap announced that it would not be able to deliver to its backers due to under estimating the costs of developing and manufacturing the new trigger. In a blog post on Medium published yesterday, Triggertrap founder and CEO Haje Jan Kamps said that his company had been treading water…

Incredible Work by PhotoShelter – Raising $2 million – The Power of Photography
PhotoShelter did an amazing thing this year, they do it a lot of the time but in particular, in 2016, their community donated to 44 individual photographer projects in an effort they called “Funded by PhotoShelter.” They watched in awe as these photographers raised nearly $2 million to tell their stories. I have to say that I am getting more than fed up with cancer, there are so many, too many people that I love, who are extremely close to me, who are going through the most terrible things, right now, at this very moment. Her work is incredible, in this conversation they discuss her inspiration, passion and desires as a photographer. We hear her experience at the John Stanmeyer workshop in Tbilisi, Georgia earlier this year (June 2016) and see photos from the adventure. Overall, this is a beautiful conversation with a beautiful person who wants to help the world come together through photography. Enjoy!
