Here’s day one thousand, five hundred and forty three of our mobile photography/art Pic of the Day section via Instagram. Each day we select one image a day for our Pic of the Day section on Instagram, with this hashtag #theappwhisperer.

Today we congratulate @joe.legrand61 with this image entitled “If you sit quietly, you’ll hear the heart of nature. Quote from someone”.

Pedestrians, cyclists and a single car move through the streets, while dramatic late-afternoon sunlight casts exceptionally long shadows across the pale road surface. A dark statue on a pedestal stands in the foreground, anchoring a complex composition of curved roads, architectural details and contrasting areas of light and shade.
