This weeks Saturday Poetry, is a little different from our usual trend. That’s to say that usually I curate an image of mobile photography and/or art and poem. Day 7 of our Instagram TAKEOVER with @iphoneartgirl – Meri Walker and @dleibo – David Leibowitz was as inspiring as ever, not least because on this particular day @iphoneartgirl featured a mobile photographer who I have personally admired for a long time, @olddog13 – Susan Rennie. I admire her so much in fact, that during my lecture at the Museum of Art in Seoul, South Korea in 2015, I screened a video I had curated of her cafe portraits to the live professional audience. Disruptive technologies in mobile imaging: Taking smartphone cameras to the next level
We always look closely to the professionalism of DxO Mark: The trusted industry standard for camera and lens image quality and today they have published a comprehensive overview of smartphone camera technologies and their impact on image quality measurements from 2012 to today. In their article, they look at the evolution of both Photo and Video scores by comparing one of the first high-end devices they tested, the Nokia 808 PureView, to today’s flagship phones, such as the Google Pixel 2, the iPhone X, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.
