What Would An iPhone 5 With 4 Inch Screen Actually Look Like?

    2011-02-15 / 2 Comments

Well, that’s what we were wondering, we’ve heard all the rumors about the iPhone Nano but we don’t really think Apple are likely to want to go smaller, but larger, sure we can picture that. 9to5 can too as they have created a mock-up of what the iPhone 5 may look like with a 4 inch display fitting into the current iPhone 4 hardware. Take a look, what do you think? We like it. It would be good to get at least five icons width wise and perhaps 6 down. That would be something else if Apple found a way to push the LCD display to all edges. Not sure…

Need A Condom? There’s An App For That – With GPS

    2011-02-14 / 1 Comment

With the talk last week of the Vatican disapproving of the Confessional app, here’s another one they may well disapprove of too. It’s a condom locator, never be caught short again as this app uses GPS to find your nearest condom distribution point. This Valentine’s Day, which is also National Condom Awareness Day, finding free NYC Condoms will be easier than ever. Today, the Health Department launched the NYC Condom Finder, a free smartphone application designed to locate the five nearest New York City venues that distribute free NYC Condoms. The application allows users to determine their location through either global positioning system (GPS) technology on their smartphone or by…

The Photographer’s Ephemeris iOS App Just Updated

    2011-02-14 / 1 Comment

One of our favorite apps, The Photographer’s Ephemeris, helps you plan outdoor photography shoots, particularly landscape and urban scenes. It is a map-centric sun and moon calculator: see how the light will fall on the land, be it day or night, for any location on earth. This app has now been updated for the iPad UI and has many other fixes. As a photographer this app should definitely be on your radar/device. TPE’s map-based approach means you aren’t limited to a predefined list of locations, which often don’t include the places many photographers go. Instead, search for any place name on the planet or position the map pin exactly where…

Customer Sold Fake iPad In Walmart – They Refuse Refund

    2011-02-13 / 1 Comment

This story coming hot out of 9to5mac, states that a guy from Altanta, Georgia bought what he thought to be an Apple iPad from his local Walmart store. When he got home and opened it up, it turned out to be a fake iPad prop, with an identical shell to the real thing but hollow inside. It seems that another previous ‘customer’ returned their Apple iPad for a refund, but returned this fake model. Therefore, getting a refund and keeping the real device. Walmart are blaming Apple as they handle their returns apparently, and the customer is planning on taking out a lawsuit against Walmart. Here’s a video of the…

New iPhoneography Competition – Pixels: The Art of iPhone

    2011-02-08 / 1 Comment

In December of 2009, Knox Bronson approached Rae Douglass at the Giorgi Gallery in Berkeley, California with the idea of presenting the first ever gallery exhibit of iPhone photography. Rae said yes, and within days, Knox had created a website and had put out a call for submissions through iphontography bloggers and flickr groups. Pictures flooded in from all over the world. Amazing pictures, all done on iPhones. No editing on a computer was allowed, and suspect images were checked and removed if found to have been edited elsewhere. Well, now Pixels: The Art of iPhone has just posted a call for entries for an iPhone Photography exhibition at the…
