Sixth New Assignment Announced ‘Recognition’ for our Forthcoming Book ‘Away with Words’
In January we announced a brand new Assignment section to TheAppWhisperer offering an opportunity for mobile photographers and artists to enter into a monthly assignment on a subject matter that we have individually crafted. This new section is another ground breaking topic within our community. Like so many of the sections within TheAppWhisperer, has not been done before, in this way. Photographic images have reflected and shaped culture since the inception of the medium and this is non more so apparent than shown within mobile photography and art. The power of mobile art today is inevitably entangled with the diverse tolerances that cultures have in relation to photographs and the…

Assignment – ‘Beauty and Awe’ – Result and Fourth Essay with Becky Menzies for our Forthcoming Book – Away with Words
With three chapters behind us, we are delighted to publish our fourth chapter for our forthcoming book ‘Away with Words’, this will be published early next year. Our ‘assignment’ for this chapter was ‘Beauty and Awe’ and we have selected Becky Menzies image from the selection we were sent, as we feel it epitomises this subject, for our fourth of twelve 1000 word essays, personally written by myself. Mobile Photography & Art – Flickr/Instagram Group Showcase – 2 June 2019
As humans, we have the unique ability of utilising our skill of habit, to our own disadvantage. We can fail to take note of what is always around us. Thus, we suffer emotionally because we lose sight of the value of what we have and then yearn for imagined attractions elsewhere. We live on auto pilot. As an example, if you think back, to when first learning to ride a bicycle, we become hyper aware of everything, as we sit on the saddle and place one foot on a pedal and the other on the ground, to steady us. As we try to push off and bring up the other…

TheAppWhisperer Triumphs! A Very Touching Testimonial
Yesterday, I had the greatest pleasure to receive a donation from an artist that I do not know too well, Becky Menzies from Canada. I wrote to thank her for her contribution and she wrote me the most touching reply. I asked her if I may share it with you all because it means so much to me. It is messages like this that motivate and inspire me to do what I do, every single day. If you’re unfamiliar with Becky Menzies, please reach out to her, I will ensure she’s invited to all of our groups, what a wonderful person and artist she is!
