HTC have launched the RE Camera, it’s a16MP ‘GoPro competitor’ and it records 1080p video and time-lapses. It can also record HD slow-motion video at 1/4 speed.
The device includes a 146-degree wide-angle lens and image stabilisation software, and is built with a waterproof design. The RE app works with both Android and iOS devices, where your photos and videos will be automatically viewable. You can also use your device as a viewfinder, as the RE doesn’t have a screen of its own.
The camera comes in white, teal, orange and navy blue and will be available for $199 at recamera.com starting November in the US.
The RE will also be available from £169.99 in the UK and is compatible with Android smartphones (Android 4.5 and above) and iPhones (iOS 7 or later). The RE is available in white and navy models, and also in orange exclusively with EE. Customers can connect the RE by HTC to a smartphone on 4GEE via device to device Wi-Fi in order to share images and videos on the move over the UK’s biggest and fastest mobile network.
Sharon Meadows, Director of Devices and Added Value Products at EE, said: “People are sharing content more than ever from their mobile devices, and sharing high definition video and images demands the biggest and fastest mobile network. The combination of a powerful connected camera like the stunning RE by HTC and our superfast 4GEE network means that customers will be able to share their experiences in new and exciting ways.”
