    PhotoRaw Lite – Updated

2012-08-09 / Comments Off on PhotoRaw Lite – Updated

PhotoRaw for iOS is a viewer and developer for image files in raw format. Raw file formats from most camera manufacturers are supported, for example Nikon NEF files, Canon CR2 files, Leica DNG files, etc – see the product web site for a full list of supported cameras. PhotoRaw allows you to view these files at full 1:1 pixel resolution, even 16 mega-pixel plus images such as from a Nikon D3x or a Leica M9. PhotoRaw implements virtual memory. Virtual memory means that if PhotoRaw runs low on physical RAM because of other apps running the background, it can use the device’s flash memory to process even the largest images,…

    Rays – Temporarily Free

    2012-08-09 / 1 Comment

Create stunning and realistic light ray effects quickly and easily. Known as volumetric lighting in computer graphics or crepuscular rays in atmospheric optics, this dramatic effect adds polish and style. Since the rays are only added to highlight areas, they have the effect of passing through objects and add a third dimensional quality. Add shafts of light streaming through clouds, rays filtering through a forest canopy, beams of light on a foggy night or rays shooting out from text. Rays adds a striking and dramatic quality to any image. This app usually retails for $0.99/£0.69 but at the time of writing it is available for free in both the UK…

Nikon Coolpix S800 To Have Android Inside

    2012-08-09 / 1 Comment

According to Nikonrumors this morning, Nikon will soon announce a new Android based compact camera. The model name will be the Coolpix S800. Nikon is expected to make this announcement at Photokina later on this year. It’s interesting, where does this leave us? Our phones have become our cameras and our cameras are becoming our phones. I think the vast majority of digital cameras will have Android inside before long. It’s…

Olloclip Tutorial – Creating Abstract Images With The Olloclip Macro Lens

    2012-08-08 / 6 Comments
