The Best Photography & Art Books of 2016
Of course we all love our mobile devices and reading books on them is second nature to creating art but sometimes, we also really like to curl up with a really good traditional book with real paper. I have selected some of the very best photography and Art books released this year. I am sure any one of these, you would love to receive. Pro photo tips for using Portrait mode on iPhone 7 Plus
Apple continues to embrace photography with their new iPhone 7 Plus, as we all know. On 6 December 2016, Apple published an article to their newsroom blog providing tips for using the Portraiture mode on the brand spanking new, iPhone 7 Plus. Apple iPhone Image Uploads Dominate Flickr in 2016
With over 241,118 images uploaded to our seventeen Flickr Groups, it came as no surprise to us at TheAppWhisperer to learn that smartphones have dominated Flickr uploads this year with Apple leading. Flickr reports, “In 2016, we saw interesting trends continue with the top manufacturers and devices. As in previous years, smartphones have grown as the dominant device of choice, while point and shoot and DSLR cameras both lost ground. Smartphones accounted for 48% of the photos uploaded to Flickr, up from 39% last year. DSLR was 25%, down from 31% in 2015, and point and shoot was 21%, down from 25% in 2015. Photography & Video Interview
Joseph Linaschke otherwise known as PhotoJoseph – a colleague I used to work with interviews France Leclerc, a Travel and Documentary Photographer. Her work is incredible, in this conversation they discuss her inspiration, passion and desires as a photographer. We hear her experience at the John Stanmeyer workshop in Tbilisi, Georgia earlier this year (June 2016) and see photos from the adventure. Olloclip #ImagesSpeakLouder – Gallery & Pop-Up Shop with Free Mobile Photography Workshop
Olloclip have arranged some great mobile photography and videography events for the holiday season. If you live in Southern California, it looks like you should check this out. On 10 December between 1-2pm there’s a free Workshop hosted by @artofvisuals and David Hsia (@syntax_error). They are there to teach you the ins and outs of mobile photography and how to get the most from your smartphone.
