My Latest Vogue Column Interview Published with Photographer Clara Giaminardi Today!
I am beyond ecstatic, my latest interview has just been published to Vogue and when this happens, I am always thrilled. This time, I interviewed the incredibly talented photographer, Clara Giaminardi, I utterly adore her work. “Cascading into the world in 1992, Italian visual linguist, Clara Giaminardi’s later emergence into the photographic cosmos represents a deeply personal, complex and largely enduring oeuvre. Consisting notably of visceral, primordial and emotional portraiture that she describes as “creating a mirror to discover the self through the other,” in this conversation with PhotoVogue Columnist, Joanne Carter. She was asked by Volvo to test the new on-board Volvo XC60’s camera and sensors. The XC60 is a car that I personally adore, it has proven itself in so many ways and not least with Davidson herself, having survived a horrific car accident in one. With that in mind, she has created an incredible photo story promoting the brand through her art. She utilised the XC60 by composing a series of images, exploring the relationship between…

“Be wild, that is how to clear the river. The river does not flow in polluted, we manage that. The river does not dry up, we block it. If we want to allow it its freedom, we have to allow our ideational lives to be let loose, to stream, letting anything come, initially censoring nothing. That is creative life.” This is a passage from a wonderful book, that you may have already read, it’s not new. It’s entitled “Women who run with the Wolves: Contacting the Power of the Wild Woman”, written and thoroughly researched by Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estes. This book was recommend to me by an incredibly talented Vogue photographer that I have…
