EE, the UK’s most advanced digital communications company, today announced its latest 4G ready smartphones are now available from Orange and T-Mobile stores, online and through telesales for both consumers and business customers to purchase. Both Orange and T-Mobile have opened up their pre-orders for the iPhone 5 and there are some good deals to be had. The cheapest deal is £36 a month with unlimited internet, 2000 minutes (plus unlmited T-Mobile calls), unlimited texts on The Full Monty Plan (pay monthly) for 24 months. Integrated Carrier Billing Gains Momentum On BlackBerry
With carriers experiencing a 120% increase in BlackBerry app downloads, RIM today announced that more than 40 carriers around the world have now deployed integrated carrier billing for their customers on BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry App World is now available in 164 markets and territories worldwide. More than 60,000 apps are currently available on RIM’s app store and over 174 million apps are downloaded each month. AT&T Will Become Largest US iPhone Mobile Carrier
AT&T has made a deal with Deutsche Telekom to buy out T-Mobile that will make it the largest US iPhone carrier by contributing an additional 33.7 million T-Mobile subscribers to AT&T’s network that currently has around 99 million subscribers. Samsung SideKick 4G Will Support Tethering On T-Mobile’s HSPA+ Network
The Samsung SideKick 4G smartphone which we know is joining T-Mobile’s network will support tethering and mobile hotspot functionality. This new model is similar in form factor to the earlier version but this one also includes a 2 GB microSD card along with 1 GB of onboard memory. The handset will run Google Android OS and sports a touchscreen, 1 GHz Hummingbird processor and front facing camera. No launch dates/details yet but keep checking back for that.

With the imminent launch of the Apple iPad 2, both T-Mobile and Orange have slashed the cost of the Apple iPad in the UK to clear stock. Orange have the 16 GB iPad with WiFi + 3G for £99 instead of £220 on their 24 pay monthly contract, which is £27 a month for new Orange customers, or £25 for exisiting customers. T-Mobile’s Exclusivity iPhone Contract In Germany Coming To An End
According to the WSJ today, Deutsche Telekom AG will lose exclusivity for the iPhone just ahead of the holiday season. Now Vodafone Group and Telefonica SA’s 02 will start selling it along with Deutsche Telekom, (T-Mobile). It has been reported that the matter has not been completely finalized yet but is at an advanced stage. The contract with Deutsche Telekom will most probably end this October. Germany is the last major European market in which one provider has exclusive rights to sell the iPhone.
