App Revenue Grows to 15% Globally $39 Billion in H1 2019
Despite what you may have read from other sources, consumers spent an estimated $25.5 billion globally in the Apple App Store in the first half of 2019. Google Play’s estimated gross revenue exceeds that to $14.2 billion for the same period. Interestingly, Tinder was the highest grossing non-game app in this period. It generated an estimated $497 million in revenue across both the Apple App Store and Google Play. This is up 32% over the same period of 2018. WhatsApp, Telegram Files Could be Hacked – ‘Media File Jacking’
‘Media File Jacking’ is the new buzzword phrase that describes a security flaw and enables hackers to manipulate images and audio files on various platforms, and in this case ‘end-to-end encryption’ apps WhatsApp and Telegram on Android. Apple Exporting from India to boost ‘Make In India’ Plan
Exports from India for Apple iPhones have already started to a few European markets. The Indian government are keen to promote their ‘Made in India’ plan and Apple are keen to ensure India becomes a main export hub. Wistron Corp are Apple’s India contract industry manufacturer who started assembling iPhones in India in 2016.
