My Latest LensCulture Article Published with Amy Leibrand
Fabulous! I am delighted to announce that my latest article as Contributing Editor for LensCulture has just been published. This time I interviewed Amy Leibrand about her stunning mobile photography. “I’m always looking for something to exaggerate, oversized lips or legs or the absence of flesh in a portrait. Some sort of odd composition or feature to make the viewer stop, take notice and (most importantly), ask questions.” —Amy Leibrand in conversation with LensCulture Contributing Editor, Joanne Carter “Leibrand’s world exploded when she was introduced to the work of Kristamas Klousch and Francesca Woodman. Both of these photographers’ work is dark, sensual and often provocative. It appealed to Leibrand not…
Mobile Art – APPart Artist Interview with Damian De Souza – TheAppWhisperer
Every now and then, when perusing Flickr you run across an image that makes you stop dead in your tracks. That’s what happened to me the first time I saw an image by Damian De Souza, and the second, and the third. He seamlessly incorporates disparate parts and pieces to form twisted, torn and unsettling imagery that’s impossible to ignore. De Souza’s work expertly crosses the threshold of genuine fine art and I’m so pleased to have had the opportunity to converse with him while creating this interview for you to enjoy. iSights – “An Introvert in an Overly Social (Media) World” by Janine Graf
“Florida Spring Break: Introvert Style” ©Janine Graf She needed time alone. Being the quintessential introvert, all the socializing quickly caught up to her. And besides, the giraffes were starting to get on her nerves, especially after the embarrassing photos they posted to Facebook without running them by her first. If she had thumbs she would have changed her tagging permissions before leaving town, but she also assumed that what happens in Florida stays in Florida. Certainly that’s an unwritten law? Sure, the giraffes may be extroverts, but they’re also assholes. I know how she feels, being an introvert myself . . . well, I know how she feels about needing…
