Rufus Wainwright once admitted that he was terrified to settle down into a happy relationship, because without the emotional drama that came from all those dysfunctional love affairs, he was afraid of losing access to ‘that dark lake of pain’ he felt was critical to his music. Some of the most famous artists in the world were also dealing with disabilities in everyday life. Vincent Van Gogh had temporal lobe epilepsy; Henri Matisse became a wheelchair user after surgery for cancer; and Michelangelo had osteoarthritis, limiting mobility and causing pain in his hands and feet. Whether they have a physical or mental disability, many artists today are creating beautiful and intricate artwork in the face of adversity. Paul Smith, typewriter artist Paul Smith (1921-2007) had a severe case of cerebral palsy (sometimes known as CP): a group of neurological disorders affecting movement, balance and posture. Distressed FX Mobile Art App Major Update and Giveaway!
The Distressed FX team is excited to announce an update that will bring joy to many of its existing users. By far the most requested feature, masking, has now been incorporated into the app. The developers of this popular app have doubled-down on the masking and now offer it in two versions. Firstly, there is touch based masking, enabling the user to paint on the mask using a finger or Apple Pencil. The second method is by using depth data incorporated into Portrait Mode photos.
