Mostly Mobile Photography & Mobile Art – Tickle Your Fancy #49
Welcome back to our forty ninth post in our ‘Tickle Your Fancy’ section. ‘Tickle Your Fancy’ includes a round-up of between three to five links to articles from around the internet that have specifically interested us during the course of the week. Ones that we feel are relevant to your interest in photography and art. Just to explain the title for this section ‘Tickle Your Fancy’ is an English idiom and essentially means that something appeals to you and perhaps stimulates your imagination in an enthusiastic way, we felt it would make a great title for this new section of the site. We really hope you enjoy these articles over…
VSCO Opens a Free NYC Studio for Photographers
Hiring a studio space in NYC is expensive, that’s one of the reasons the VSCO Open Studio is hugely attractive. Located in the NoMad neighbourhood of Manhattan, New York City, this studio is already kitted out with a permanent cyclorama, lighting equipment and other gear that can be borrowed, if needed. The Open Studio is housed within VSCO’s NYC offices and is free to use. However, you will need to put down a $250 deposit to reserve the space. If you cancel within 72 hours of your session, you forfeit a deposit of $250. You will also be responsible for any damage to the space or any borrowed equipment. You’re…

Mobile Photography & Art – The Courage to be Afraid – Showcase for Carolyn Hall Young
Recently, I set up a Facebook group entitled – The Courage to be Afraid – A Tender Tribute to Human Valiance with Carolyn Hall Young. Hall Young is our dear friend and hugely talented artist and many of you are aware that she is currently experiencing particularly challenging health issues. This group was made with love and is full of love from all the artists who have joined this group to create and share their images for her. I have complied each image into a film showcase, so that she can view all of them in one sitting (hopefully). When she is feeling more well, I am sure she will…
Mobile Art – Appstracts – App for Carolyn Hall Young
Recently, the mobile art Facebook group, Appstracts, administrated by Roger Guetta and Grant Basma Horsnell asked of the group to create a mobile art image for dear Carolyn Hall Young, who is currently very unwell. I have gathered all the images together to make one video showcase to share with you all. (Please do note, that I have gone through the group several times, searching for all the images for this particular showcase and I believe I have included everyone, if not, please just let me know and I will add you). Many congratulations to the following artists and thank you all so much for creating these images for Carolyn:…

Mobile Art – A Message from Steve and Janet Wozniak for Carolyn Hall Young
Sometimes we make magic, as long as we have hope over fear and we all know that Carolyn Hall Young would agree with that. As you know, she is very ill at the moment, in hospital. A few days ago, I wrote to Steve Wozniak of Apple and tried very hard to describe Carolyn to him and how much she loves Apple. The opportunities they have all given her by creating incredible products enabling her to continue to create art, despite her medical challenges. I also attached the TrueView video she made talking explaining what her work says about mobile photograph and mobile art (link), so he could really get…
