Camera+ Gets Stripped From The App Store
As we and many others reported yesterday, Camera+ violated Apple’s developer agreement by ‘hiding’ an update to their hugely popular app after Apple had already rejected it. Apple initially rejected the update to Camera+ as it felt it would bring about ‘user confusion’. The idea was to allow users to use one of the iPhone’s volume buttons as a mechanical shutter button while using Camera+. However, tap tap tap, the developers behind Camera+ then gave instructions via Twitter on a ‘workaround’ allowing users to use the volume button as the shutter. Apple Rejects VolumeSnap in Camera+ Update
The popular Camera+ app has had its latest update rejected by Apple. The VolumeSnap feature, the update in question, would of allowed the use of the iPhone’s volume buttons to control the camera’s shutter. This seems like it would of been a useful feature to have in Camera+ – here’s Apple’s official reason for the rejection….. Offically Rejected "Your application cannot be added to the App Store because it uses iPhone volume buttons in a non-standard way, potentially resulting in user confusion. Changing the behavior of iPhone external hardware buttons is a violation of the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement. Applications must adhere to the iPhone Human Interface Guidelines…
