With carriers experiencing a 120% increase in BlackBerry app downloads, RIM today announced that more than 40 carriers around the world have now deployed integrated carrier billing for their customers on BlackBerry App World. RIM Finally Updates BlackBerry PlayBook OS To OS 2.0
Well we’ve all been waiting for this for a while, but as we mentioned in our CES preview, RIM stuck to their word and released OS 2.0 today. Ouch – RIM Has $1.7 Million Of PlayBooks Stolen
Oh RIM come on – you don’t need this! Somehow, whilst a truck driver was catching a break last Thursday, his truck full of 22 pallets of BlackBerry PlayBooks – that’s around 5,000 units was stolen. Not only that, there was no tracking device on the vehicle so the theives just went on their merry way. This loss has been valued at $1.7 million, add this to the $485 million loss recently took a hit on with its poorly selling PlayBooks and the latest delay to their BlackBerry 10 phones and things are not looking good.
