Earlier this week we announced our first Mobile Photography & Art Assignment of the year. We are offering an opportunity for mobile photographers and artists to enter into a monthly assignment on a subject matter that we have individually crafted over a period of twelve months. At the end of the year, we will create a book, entitled ‘Away With Words – TheAppWhisperer Assignment Book – Volume 1‘. At the end of each month, we will gather the images that have been contributed and select one for an immersive critique. I will personally write this with over 1000 words. Apply to VSCO Voices 2019
We are pleased to actively promote VSCO Voices. In partnership with Access Ventures, VSCO Voices is a six month grant program that supports creators who empower marginalized communities in the US. This year, five individuals will receive $20,000 in funding to carry out their projects. In addition to financial support, each recipient will be paired with a mentor from the creative community to offer advice and encouragement throughout the process.
Adobe Lightroom CC for iPad Has Been Updated with Siri Shortcuts Support
If you’re an avid user of Adobe Lightroom CC for iPad and so many artists are, then you’ll be pleased with the latest update. It brings support for Apple’s Shortcuts app, this now allows you to create a shortcut in order to directly import your images into Lightroom. Adobe explain “Support for Shortcuts app. Lightroom is now supported directly within the Apple Shortcuts app, enabling the creation of a shortcut in which images are imported into Lightroom. You can also decide whether or not to apply one of the default presets at the time of import”. Lightroom CC for iPad is available as a free download on the App Store.

Sometimes, when reading a book, visually I am often sped far away to artwork that has touched me . Such is the case with an unpredictable tale of passion and pianos set in 1880’s France and Russia that I am currently reading. Love is Blind is the 15th novel by one of my favourite authors, William Boyd. There’s more to this book than an ‘historical travelogue-cum-romance’, not that I have a problem with that. It’s beautufully written, deeply humane, entirely engaging and frequently humorous, what more could I ask? And when reading it, I frequently envision ‘The Lovers’ by Magritte.
