Mobile Photography – Final Call for Entries to Huawei and Dazed ‘Reveal the Real You’ Photography Initiative
Global smartphone manufacturer, Huawei, and youth culture magazine, Dazed, are issuing a final call for creatives to enter their ‘Reveal the Real You’ initiative. Due to high demand, entries to the community-led photo project have been extended to October 1st 2017 and will see three collaborators awarded a £10,000 bursary to donate to the community cause of their choice. The project is the latest partnership from Huawei that aims to inspire people to use their smartphone as a tool of self-expression. The campaign officially launched at the Peckhamplex cinema on 4th September 2017 with a large-scale street exhibition featuring images shot by emerging photography talent and Peckham local, Campbell Addy.…
Mobile Photography – Self Portraiture Video by Jeffrey Simpson
Last week we published an incredibly interesting TrueView interview with Jeffrey Simpson where he so eloquently describes his reasoning for creating self portraiture. It is remarkably moving, atmospheric and full of awareness. Just published by David Cardinal for DxO Mark the Apple iPhone 8 review makes interesting reading. “The Apple iPhone 8 is the highest-performing single-camera smartphone we have tested with our new protocols, with an impressive Overall score of 92. Despite having a smaller 1/2.8-inch sensor, it edges out our previous top scorers, the HTC U11 and the Google Pixel. This demonstrates how much Apple has been able to accomplish with the hardware and software that complement the sensor and are used for image processing. Just published by David Cardinal for DxOMark the Apple iPhone 8 Plus review makes interesting reading. “The Apple iPhone 8 Plus is the best-performing mobile device camera we have ever tested. Its overall DxOMark Mobile score of 94 sets a new record, beating out the 90 points for both the Google Pixel and the HTC U11, as well as the 92 that its sibling iPhone 8 just scored.
