Streets Ahead Interview: Jennifer Sharpe
This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is pleased and honored to feature Jennifer Sharpe in our interview segment. Many of you may know Jennifer from iPhoneArt (IPA) and Flickr. She goes by the name “Odilonvert” Now, if you’re like me… you’re probably asking yourself “What does Odilonvert mean?” Well, here is the answer: “Odilon is inspired by Odilon Redon (a French painter/artist from the 2nd half of the 1800’s) and “vert” means “green.” Ahhhh… once I learned this… I found myself looking at Jennifer’s work with a new set of eyes. Odilon Redon was an artist who visually explored his internal feelings and psyche. He strived…

This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is extremely pleased and honored to feature Natali Prosvetova in our interview section. Many of you will be familiar with Natali’s work in other genres of iPhoneography. Extremely prolific, Natali never ceases to surprise me with her work. Creatively, she seems to be able to successfully tap in to many aspects of mobile art, from very painterly, to surrealist to street photography. I first became aware of her work on the Hipstamatic Facebook page, and later in ‘Pixels, the art of the iPhone’. I was amazed at the work that she was producing with her first generation iPhone, the 2G, which just…

Welcome to the showcase for our first challenge, ‘Crouching’ (photographing street scenes/life from a crouching position). Mobile Photography – Streets Ahead Interview With Allie Astell
This week, the Women’s Mobile Street Photography Collective (Streets Ahead) is pleased and honored to feature Allie Astell in our interview section. I first noticed Allie’s work when she was featured in the ‘Adventures in Hipstaland’ series from the Hipstamatic team. She did one set of photographs of Dahab and the other of Morocco and I thought that she had a fantastic eye. I have been following her work ever since. And for this interview, we decided to feature photographs from her life in the middle east, where she is based for most of the year. Her ‘streets’ are often the beach and the dessert, and although this may not…
