Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPhone & iPad – Temporary Price Drop

2014-04-11 / Comments Off on Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPhone & iPad – Temporary Price Drop

Adobe’s Photoshop Touch for both iPhone and iPad is very popular image editing app. As we mentioned in our review at dpreview back in 2012 – see here – it’s responsive, it’s easy to make selections and there’s good support for layers as well as a wide range of familiar tools and it’s come on a long way since then. Usually Photoshop Touch for iPhone retails for $4.99/£2.99 but today you can pick it up for only $1.99/$1.49. The iPad version usually retails for $9.99/$6.99 but today it’s available for only $4.99/£2.99. Select your desired version below: iPhone/download iPad/download

New Carousel Photo App by Dropbox – Designed To Organise Your Images…

2014-04-10 / Comments Off on New Carousel Photo App by Dropbox – Designed To Organise Your Images…

Carousel is designed as a gallery for all your photos and videos, it combines the photos in your Dropbox with the photos on your phone, and automatically backs up new ones as you take them. Carousel sorts all these memories by event so you can easily travel back in time to any photo from any date. Carousel isn’t constrained by the space on your phone and this perhaps is Dropbox’s main push for Carousel. Freeing up storage on your smartphone (Carousel is available on both IOS and Android platforms), the company sees this as a more viable solution to automatic syncing of mobile photos. Flickr currently offers 1TB of free…

Streets Ahead – Flo Fox – 10 Minute Video Documentary Full of Inspiration, Life and Love!

    2014-04-10 / 1 Comment

Please take a few minutes to watch this 10 minute documentary on acclaimed street photographer Flo Fox. Brooklyn based filmmaker Riley Hooper created this film entitled ‘Flo: Portrait of a Street Photographer’. This is the film’s description – ‘This 10-minute documentary explores the life and work of photographer Flo Fox, who, despite blindness, multiple sclerosis, and lung cancer, continues to shoot the streets of New York City. No longer able to hold a camera, she instructs her aides to take photos for her. She’s an incredible woman with a feisty spirit, sharp wit, and dirty sense of humor’.     FLO from Riley Hooper on Vimeo.

2014-04-10 / Comments Off on Sony Xperia Z2 overview: Revised model takes first place in Mobile rankings – Kevin Carter

Kevin Carter our Head of Technical Hardware as well as the Lead Technical Editor for DxOMark and the British Journal of Photography among others, recently tested Sony’s Xperia Z2 smartphone. DPReview use Kevin’s scientific data in their reviews, as they quote Kevin here, ‘The DxOMark team reports the Xperia Z2 images show “impressive detail preservation outdoors” and “in low light, a lot of detail is still visible, even if a loss of details is noticeable compared to outdoors.” Noise levels are reasonable at all light levels, with small grain size and no chroma noise. The autofocus works in a fast and responsive manner, with only very few focus errors. The…
