Daily App Digest – August 12, 2011
Artwork Evolution
Paul Solt is enabling non-traditional artists to create art with Artwork Evolution’s major update and week long sale. Artwork Evolution, version 1.3, is free from August 10-17th to raise awareness for the collaboration between the arts and sciences. Using the App, anyone can create abstract patterns and colors guided by style and personal preferences. Images are breed together in a manner similar to dog breeding to create unlimited collections of artwork.
Solt decided to share his artistic passion with the world by making the latest version free for a week. The newest version includes a natural interface to enable realistic interactions with digital images on a virtual table. "Content interaction in many apps has been far too static, and that is what I am changing," said Solt. "There is so much power with a multi-touch screen, yet it is hardly being used in apps. Developers need to shift away from the static page-based content and allow the viewer to control the experience in a hands-on manner."
The new version has numerous improvements including the coffee table interface that allows viewers to drag-and-drop images into an evolve box. Images within this box are mutated and morphed into new images that carry similar characteristics and colors to the previous images. Any image that does not look appealing can be flicked off the table to create room for more colorful siblings.
