‘Catch the Candy’, puts you in control of a hungry little fuzzy creature as he uses his extendible grappling tongue to hunt down his candy.  But it’s not so easy to reach, as he’s not able to move around on his own.  He’ll have to use his tongue to latch onto objects in each of the game’s 80 levels, to get close enough to the candy to draw it to him.

Safe Eats NYC

Toughturtle LLC is excited to announce the launch of Safe Eats NYC, an iOS application that gives users a quick and intuitive way to view the sanitation and inspection records of restaurants, or eateries, nearby. With a constantly updated database of all the 24,000 New York City eateries throughout the five boroughs, Safe Eats NYC gives the user invaluable information about which establishments to steer clear of when they are looking for a place to eat.

"This is not another ‘find a restaurant near me’ App. Safe Eats NYC is all about knowing which restaurants should be avoided," said Todd Barnes, Lead Developer, Toughturtle LLC. "The idea came to me as I passed by my regular Chinese restaurant and saw the very low grade they had received from the city. This made me question all the restaurants that I frequent. I now wanted to know the grades and ratings of every restaurant."

INFOMATO(R), Inc. today unveiled a new version of its iQuipment software that provides support for the ID TECH iMag and iMag Pro mobile readers for credit and magnetic stripe cards. Windows(R) POS systems developers can now use the Apple(R) iPhone(R), iPod touch(R) or iPad(R) to securely send information such as credit card data and employee IDs to their existing POS systems, and also use iOS devices as a highly user-friendly terminal to access the full-blown POS functions.

The custom interface between Apple’s iOS and Microsoft(R)’s Windows platforms is complex and costly. But using the concept of pre-fab modules and built-in communication, iQuipment’s unique software solution drastically reduces the typical engineering cost and development time associated with such a project by at least ten-fold.

Following simple SDK examples, a Windows developer can assemble well-defined functional modules to build up the desired iOS user interface(s) without writing a single line of iOS code, and without any knowledge of secure wireless communication between an iOS device and a Windows machine. In fact, all of the coding work and iOS UI design work for the Windows developer are done in his / her familiar Windows environment.

Keemeo has released SexBooth 1.0, a very special booth app for iPhone and iPod touch. SexBooth is free for a limited time, and is available in the Lifestyle category of the App Store. There are some crazy apps on the iPhone, but SexBooth really pushes the limits even further.

Indeed, SexBooth claims that it can change the sex of a person in a picture. The truth is, SexBooth does not allow for perfect sex change, as the best solution for that remains surgery (or a lot of makeup). What it does really is that it makes a face look more masculine or more feminine. Because of facial hair and other factors, SexBooth works better from female to male than from male to female. Still, the transformations are pretty fun and quite realistic!

SexBooth gives acceptable results when used on pictures taken with the built-in camera of the iPhone and iPod touch. In order to create great transformations, it is better to use high quality pictures taken with an external digital camera and imported from the photo album.

Peg Pals Pro

Created by a retired research mathematics professor, the app Peg Pals Pro is the only puzzle of its kind on the App Store. Its predecessor Peg Pals appeared on Apple’s "What’s Hot in Board Games," and "What’s Hot in Puzzles."

A puzzle consists of the classic triangle board with 15 peg locations (such as those commonly seen in the Cracker Barrel restaurant). The object is to reduce the puzzle to a single peg by successively jumping a peg over an adjacent peg and into an empty location. Puzzles can vary in difficulty from requiring about 30 seconds to solve, to much more complex.

This app shows there is much more to simple peg puzzles than most people realize.

The typical peg solitaire puzzles begins with just one peg removed. What’s special about Peg Pals is that it does not restrict the user to a single-peg removed puzzle, but rather generates random – but always solvable – puzzles with varying number of pegs removed.

As an option, puzzles may require that the final peg be in a specific spot. The user also has an option to use a timer and the option to show a solvable indicator that turns pink when the user errs and there is no longer a solution for the current puzzle.

Peg Pals also uses artificial intelligence search methodology to analyze positions and can tell the user how many solutions there are to a given puzzle and which moves are best in a given position.

Spoken Image

Escape Velocity Apps, the creators of the popular iPad app Audiolio, today is happy to announce the launch of Spoken Image – their newest app for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. Spoken Image is available worldwide today in the App Store. With Spoken Image, anyone can easily add a short recording to their images, and send their creation to Facebook, Dropbox, Email, and more.

"Spoken Image will change the way people share pictures. Adding a recording to a photo provides a richer, more expressive description than a text caption alone," said Vince Oswalt, co-founder of Escape Velocity Apps. "And since you’re captioning using your voice, there’s no need for typing, so it’s much more convenient and pleasant experience when you’re taking photos on the go. It’s quick, it’s simple, and it works great. We think people will quickly realize how handy this app is for many tasks."

Spoken Image is great for everyone. Friends sharing party pics. Kids sending a quick hello to the grandparents. Classmates describing the equations they photographed off the whiteboard. Realtors, house inspectors, insurance adjusters, retailers – all can benefit from Spoken Image.
