Apple ticked off another achievement today and announced that they now have more than 10,000 applications in the Mac App Store. The Mac App Store launched in early 2011 with 1,000 apps, so you can see how rapidly that has increased in just over one year.
Amongst those 10,000 apps, there are 628 Photography apps with Apple holding the top two places with iPhoto at number one and Aperture at number two. Adobe are holding onto third place with Photoshop Elements and Nik Software’s hugely popular Snapseed is at number four. MacPhun are holding fifth place with Color Splash Studio and have a further two apps in the top grossing charts, these include FX Photo Studio and Snapheal. Nevercenter are holding seventh place with CameraBag 2 and SilkenMermaid are at number eight with TurboCollage, finally Wondershare Software are sporting tenth place with Photo Movie Maker.
Apple stopped the free trials of their iWork suite and Aperture earlier this month so unfortunately you will have to pay for the full version of these apps now.
