TheAppWhisperer (TAW) Photo Competition – Powered by ProCamera
TheAppWhisperer (TAW), in partnership with ProCamera (iOS Photography app) is pleased to announce an International Open Call for photographic art and images for the first (of many) in-app Photo Contests.
This competition has been sponsored by Manfrotto, Olloclip and SnowLizard Products.
The theme for this contest is Night Shots and separated into three separate categories, these include:
1/ People/Portraiture;
2/ Cityscapes;
3/ Landscapes;
Our main Judge for this competition is Miranda Gavin. Miranda a Freelance writer, blogger, photographer and educator. Additional Judges include Award Winning Mobile Photographer and App Whisperer Contributor Nettie Edwards, our incredibly talented Columnist and Mobile Photographer JQ Gaines and Joanne Carter – Founder and Editorial Director of TheAppWhisperer.

This contest will run from September 1, 2013 until September 30, 2013. Judging will take place during October 2013 and winners will be announced by October 14, 2013.
Prizes
There will be two winners per category, one main winner and one runner up, six prizes in total. The main winners will each receive, a complete mobile kit from Manfrotto including a new KLYP iPhone Case with PIXI Tripod and continuous LED flashlight. One Olloclip Telephoto lens and Polarizer kit with brand new Olloclip case and one fabulous Snow Lizard SLPower 11 portable battery charger.
Each runner up will receive one Manfrotto KLYP iPhone case, PIXI tripod and continuous LED flash light, one 3-in-1 Olloclip lens system and one Snow Lizard SLPower 2.4 portable battery charger.
A showcase will be published to TheAppWhisperer with all the winning entries and this will be further promoted via our social media channels and partners.
There are no entry fees for this competition. Deadline for entry is September 30, 2013.
Submissions
Entries are accepted through ProCamera. Submission are limited to 5 images per email ID, we only want to see your very best work, so please be selective in your submissions. Respective copyright owners may only submit images, and entries that infringe copyright laws are invalid.
How To Enter
To enter images to the competition, select the image you want to submit from within the ProCamera app, select Camera Roll or Lightbox. Select Share (bottom right corner). Select the Exhibition option (bottom right corner), accept the terms and conditions, click Send on the email and that’s it.
Eligibility and Entries
All entrants are encouraged explore the fantastic features for capturing and editing images using ProCamera. By using the powerful range of tools in ProCamera you can greatly refine your photographs and improve the quality of your images, which increases the likeliness of being selected in for the exhibition.

Judges Bios

Miranda Gavin
Miranda is a Freelance writer, blogger, photographer and educator. As well as Editor-at-Large for Hotshoe print magazine and Editor of Frame and Reference, a visual arts platform for the South East. She also runs a photography-focused blog, The Roaming Eye. Miranda has contributed to a number of photography-related publications in the UK and abroad, including the British Journal of Photography, The Times supplement on photography (2012), F2, Katalog (Journal of Photography and Video) and Gomma’s book, MONO (2013). In 2010 Miranda co-founded (with photographer Wendy Pye) Tri-Pod, a creative initiative that supports lens-based artists with personal photographic Projects in Process (PiP). Miranda regularly delivers and chairs talks, reviews portfolios and judges photography competitions, most recently for the series category of the Renaissance Photography Prize 2013 and the annual Hotshoe/Photofusion members’ award.
Nettie Edwards
Nettie Edwards (@lumilyon) has won many awards and accolades for her Mobile art and photography including: winner, AX3 American Aperture Photography Awards Mobile Photographer of the Year 2013, AX3 2013 Winner Mobile Landscape, Seascape and Nature, AX3 2013 winner Mobile Moving Image and Video; winner: Fine Art category, 4th Julia Margaret Cameron Awards and runner up: 2013 Lumen Prize for Digital Art. Her work has been published and exhibited extensively including Mobile Photo Paris and the LA Mobile Arts Festival. Nettie runs Mobile Arts and iPhoneography workshops and is featured in Mobile Masters – an ebook featuring 50 of the World’s leading Mobile Artists and Photographers. She is the first ever Mobile Photographer to have her work exhibited at the birthplace of photography: the Fox Talbot Museum, Lacock Abbey, England, as one of six photographers featured in the exhibition “Arrangements in Black and Grey, Black and White Photography in the 21st century” ‘You can read more about Nettie on her blog. JQ Gaines
JQ is a Columnist for TheAppWhisperer.com, she edits and curates the incredibly popular Women’s Moible Street Photography Column, Streets Ahead. JQ’s background is in painting and printmaking at the Pratt Institute, she also owned and operated a Books Arts & Textiles Studio in NYC. Three years ago JQ discovered mobile photography and her work has been exhibited in a number of exhibitions around the world.
Joanne Carter
Joanne Carter is Founder and Editorial Director of TheAppWhisperer.com. A Professional Photographer and Associate of the British Industry of Professional Photographers, BIPP, as well as a Professional Journalist, specializing in Technology. A contributor to National and International publications, including DPreview.com, The Times, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, Professional Photographer, NikonPro, Graphix, Digital Arts, Popular Photography and many more.

The reason I asked is because my iphone night shot images are just extremely pixelated!! I am assuming all images need to be captured on an iphone/ipad though.
